These are some of the books I read during last half a century or so, and some of the thoughts, questions, reactions and insights, emotions - and so forth -, evoked on reading them, either then or later sometime during the interim years and decades, or even thinking over now, that are summed up here while trying to record my impressions about what I read.

The Feminine Mystique; by Betty Friedan.
Does this really need an introduction? A simply portrayed picture of life of women in US and how they were pushed into a life and an image not of their own choice, only to be then ditched and left adrift. Recognition of this reality and coming to terms with it freed the bonds they had not realised were chafing, or if they had, had not found way to free and survive.
