The Diary of a Young Girl by Anne Frank, Eleanor Roosevelt (Introduction), B.M. Mooyaart-Doubleday (Translator)

For many years after its publication readers were unsure if the diary was really of a girl who lived and wrote this or was it an intelligent way of giving people far away in time and space a window to that era, and what people went through, including children, excepting none.

Now it is well established that Anne Frank really did exist, and wrote, and was a much respected and loved girl, known to be intelligent and sensitive. There is no doubt that the family did go through all this and the diary was found accidentally and fortuitously, so it could be read by millions. She died in a concentration camp, along with all of her family except her father who survived a camp.

Anne is very alive in these pages, one can almost feel her presence.
