Hunting for the book - one of possibly two, or three - read in the hectic times of January to June 1992, when one had a hectic day - running to catch a bus at 7 a.m. and subsequently a suburban train that only those having experienced it can know it for the hell that it can be, going through teaching, correcting papers and thanking stars it was mathematics so one knew crap at a glance and didn't have to go through it unlike humanities, and relief none during the whole of it - finding books by Colin Wilson and reading them was one of the few points of relief, and in the interim decades since one forgot titles and even exactly the number of these one read; so it's at best a good guess, having scanned through titles of his works - that this is likely the one that I remember the most, as one that told about ley lines, Salisbury Plain, chalk horses and more. The cover shows Stonehenge, which seems promising, but until one reads or re-reads if one is correct, its a good guess at best.
The one I recall was highly informative, opening out the various topics normally called prehistory.
